Creative Home Decor in Polymer Clay
Published in Paperback by North Light Books (January, 2003)
Average review score:

Exciting projects that make you want to redecorate your homeI really liked this book -- I have about 12 books on Polymer clay and this is one of the best. Does a good job going over all the basics, but the projects are what make the book really great. Too many poly clay books focus on cute little figures that really have no use -- Sue Heaser's book shows you how to make things that you can USE. The directions are clear, and the ideas excellent. I am currently trolling for old lamp to turn into my own clay lampshade! I liked this book so much that I have ordered her other book, Polymer Clay Techniques.
Creative new ideas with polymer clayThis is my ninth book on polymer clay. I purchased it to get ideas to expand on what I already knew and it did just that. This book is full of new ideas I haven't been introduced to in any other book to date. The projects are well thought out and easy to follow.
I wouldn't necessarily recommend this book to be your first if you have not yet worked with this medium. However, if you are even the slightest bit experienced with polymer clay and want to find new ideas and get a new perspective, I highly recommend it!

Creative Metal Clay Jewelry: Techniques, Projects, Inspiration
Published in Hardcover by Lark Books (April, 2003)
Average review score:

Updated, creative & informative. This book includes some good how to projects, general information, specific working problems w/silver clay & some gorgeous as well as creative examples of what can be done with precious metal clay. The projects & techniques are easy enough for beginners, but give "artists" who want to try this stuff technical meat to apply to more advanced projects. Many of the pieces that she includes in the book as examples of what can be done are very inspirational & get one's creative juices flowing. I highly recommend this book. I keep coming back to it for inspiration, information & frankly can't wait to get back into the studio after flipping through it.
Great bookWonderful photos, well written guide for artists of every level.

Creed: Human Clay
Published in Paperback by Hal Leonard (October, 2000)
Average review score:

Creed RocksThis book has been the single thing that has most influenced my music. People with as much style and grace as Mark Tremonti are rarely heard today. Creed is a Rock band that puts alot of thought into their music as you can see through creativity and originality in this book. The appreciation you have of Creed's music will double or triple after seeing how things are actually done. It's brilliant.
A Great Book for Beginning GuitaristsThis book was great for me when I just started to play guitar because it was a simple process that also taught you about the guitar and the songs. I gave this 5 stars because of it's simplicity and good songs.

Felicity's Folly (Zebra Regency Romance)
Published in Paperback by Kensington Pub Corp (Mass Market) (March, 1997)
Average review score:

A funny, entertaining read!Felicity Rhoades is determined to make it on her own! To do so, she must go against the protests of her hot-tempered brother and the antics of a bevy of eccentric boarders and other-worldly beings who seem intent upon sabotaging Felicity's every effort to run a respectable boarding house. The ghostly scenes in this story are the funniest I have ever read. Many of the ghostly sightings and legends that the author mentions are indeed true stories. Being from England, I am quite familiar with certain of these tales that have been associated with English castles and abbeys for centuries. Ms. Clay has obviously done extensive research before writing this very funny story. A MUST READ, don't miss this one!
A very funny story, complete with ghosts and legends! This is a cleverly written story with interwoven plots that involve a number of mysteries. Who, or what, is digging up the grounds of Rhoades Arbor? Why is Felicity Rhoades using an assumed name? Why is she protecting her dead husband? Which one of the Arbor guests is not who she, or he, seems to be? Felicity's ideas to catch the ghostly vandal will keep you in stitches! Both Felicity and Maitland are well-drawn, likeable characters who display deep human emotions as they resist falling in love with one another. Ms. Clay has managed to write a very funny story with laugh out-loud scenes and at the same time, a heart-wrenching love story and mystery novel. If you are a true Regency fan, you won't want to miss this one! Very well done!!

Forbidden Fruit: The Fall of Eve and Adam
Published in Audio Cassette by Scheherazade AudioVisions, Inc (05 October, 2000)
Average review score:

A totally engaging listening experienceForbidden Fruit: The Fall Of Eve And Adam is an outstanding, multi-cast audio theater production dramatizing the Fall of Adam and Even as viewed from the perspective of five classic writers. Audio playwright Judith Seto draws upon The Bible, a medieval play, and works by John Milton, Bernard Shaw, and Mark Twain to present this classic story, and giving it her own unique and very clever feminist twist. Forbidden Fruit has a running time of 1 hour, 48 minutes, presents flawless production values, and is a very highly recommended, totally engaging listening experience that has been rarely equaled, and never surpassed.
Dramatic Anthology reworks the Fall motifForbidden Fruit: The Fall of Eve and Adam is an engaging exploration of some of the great literary treatments of the Adam and Eve of myth and literature. I especially found the performances of Shaw's and Mark Twain's material to be enthralling. The whole production has a sense of intimacy and imaginative play.

From Where the Sun Now Stands
Published in Paperback by Bantam Books (June, 1991)
Average review score:

From WhereThe Sun Now Stands by Will HenryThis one of the most powerful books about Chief Joseph that i have had the pleasure to read. The stirring narrative from a native Nez Perez, really puts me in the story and makes me very, very angry about the way we have treated Native Americans,Will Henry was one of the most gifted and talented western writers of all time. I wish his books would make a comeback on the bestseller lists.
This story is ingeniusly written. The book moved me and made me think about the hardships that the Indian peoples went through, especially the Nez Perce. It had lots of neat little points, and a different perspective of Chief Joseph. This was probably the best story that I've read.

Gardening Success With Difficult Soils: Limestone, Alkaline Clay, and Caliche
Published in Paperback by Taylor Pub (February, 1992)
Average review score:

For hot, dry and high pH soils (Texas Hill Country)Dry limestone based soils such as the Edwards Plateau area of Texas and other places in the southwest, provide a major challenge to gardening which is addessed in this book. In such areas many plants simply will not grow well. Trying to get them to do so is an exercise in frustration and general garden books can lead you far astray. This book is not about how to try to change your soil, high pH soils cannot be effectively acidified. The book is about plants, trees, shrubs and varieties that do well in dry calcarious soil conditions. It will save you a lot of time, money and frustration if you face these conditions. A great book, a gold mine of information.
this is an invaluable book for Central Texas gardenersThis is the most practical, useful, and enjoyable book on gardening that someone in the Texas Hill Country could ever want! It's not as big or comprehensive as the Wasowskis' "Native Texas Plants: Landscaping Region by Region", but that's because it focuses on the challenges of gardening in these "difficult" (nice word!) soils that we live with. Ogden's observations and advice about dealing with our limestone and caliche, and his reality-based recommendations of plants to use and the ones to avoid, gave me hope, encouragement, and new ideas for making this corner of the world a more beautiful place! It's got some great color photos, too.

Grand Canyon National Park: A Photographic Natural History
Published in Hardcover by BrownTrout Publishers (September, 1995)
Average review score:

Grand Canyon National ParkWow! This is not just your normal big photo book to set on the coffee table for an occasional browse through. This is a book to savor, page by page, slowly and with thoughtful contemplation of the stunning images presented both by the photographers and the author. From the first paragraphs of the introduction, I realized this book offers an unusual journey, as the author explains, in elegant prose, his reasoning for taking the reader UP the Colorado River rather than down. Here is a book worthy of being used as a reference in any historical geography or geology class, yet read from cover to cover for its literary appeal. Even those who have not visited the Grand Canyon in person will gain an awesome appreciation for this wonder of nature by traveling with the author and photographers through the pages of this masterpiece.
Wish I had this treasure when I visited the Grand CanyonTake this wonderful guide to the Grand Canyon. Not only is it informative and visually beautiful it enhances your spiritual understanding and love for the natural beauty of this magical place. Robert Hutchinson's text takes you on an awesome adventure.

Handmade Clay Crafts: Decorative Techniques & Projects
Published in Paperback by Sterling Publishing (June, 2000)
Average review score:

Great book for teachers working with kids and clay!As a longtime ceramic art instructor working with children of all ages, this is a fun book to refer to and I've added it to my list of books to tell the parents about with many students wanting to continue to work at home on projects. It's also a good book for adult beginning ceramic crafters. You just need an electric kiln or access to one. I really enjoyed the book!
Great book for playing in real clay!I love this book and highly recommend it. It could help craft or school teachers, studio owners or adults who want to work in clay. There are great step by step photographs allowing you to make delightful projects in minutes. Handmade Clay Crafts is written for the person who likes to make crafts not the serious potter unless they want to have fun with clay. I've make most of the projects in the book and I am planning to sell them craft fairs. The author's second book is a soft cover version of the first book with almost the exact information in both so buy one or the other, not both.

Hearts of Iron, Feet of Clay
Published in Paperback by Moody Publishers (May, 1979)
Average review score:

Insight and applicationThis book is full of great insights and practical application. This relevant commentary makes the book of Judges come alive! I found the explanation of Gideon's fleece most helpful.
God's Grace Seen in the Book of JudgesI learned all the stories of Judges as a child, but I realize now that I missed all the application and meaning God has for me. Inrig does an excellent job of bring the stories of the Judges to life, of showing how applicable they are to life in the 90's, and of revealing the truths God has for us today.
